A Meridian surround system does more than

simply reproduce the original performance:

it takes you there. All the subtle cues

present at a live acoustic event are

reproduced, making you really believe you’re

sitting in the hall. Just close your eyes…

Reproducing whole orchestras – or solo

instruments in real acoustic spaces, an

even more exacting task – is carried out

flawlessly, with incredible detail. You can

‘listen into’ the music, hearing the most

subtle sounds clearly. Follow a musical line

in an arrangement, catch a violin harmonic

– or listen to the die-away of the final chord

of Sergeant Pepper. Because a Meridian

system can equally reproduce the ‘virtual’

spaces created in a rock studio or on a film

soundstage. Meridian has no equal.

A Meridian multichannel system of any size

The all-digital signal path preserves the

most subtle nuances of the sound, so that

you hear it exactly as the sound designers

intended – and possibly better than they

ever heard it themselves – from birdsong

and the wind in the trees to the roar of a

thunderclap or the eruption of a volcano;

an asteroid crashing into the Earth or the

footfall of a Tyrannosaurus Rex. And our

subwoofers, like the powerful SW5500, can

help you feel the impact even more deeply.

surround encoding scheme on your discs

experience. Stereo material, too, can be

rendered effectively into surround, for even

In addition, our freestanding loudspeakers

look as good as they sound – with smooth,

elegant lines and a wide range of finishes to

complement any interior design or décor,

from piano lacquer black and satin silver to

carefully selected wood finishes (see inside

the back of this brochure). Custom colours

and finishes may be available to special order.
